Confidentiality
As a student in one of the study programmes at the Leiden University Medical Center you may come into contact with patients and may have access to private (patient) information. This also includes matters als integrity with respect to demonstrations with fellow students and so-called simulation patients. By entering a study programme at the LUMC, you are bound to the confidentiality agreement as stipulated below under a.
Code of conduct
At the LUMC, various rules pertain to order, safety, health, IT, and private information. These rules have predominantly been established in a protocol and it is expected you abide by these rules throughout the programme. You can access the protocol at (www.student.universiteitleiden.nl) to find more information on (among other things):
- The LUMC code
- The protection of personal information act
- The ID badge
- The code of conduct for network use
- The appropriate use of the building/facilities
- Good research practice and integrity
Other rules that apply:
- Instructions received from anyone employed by the LUMC are to be followed up on
- Under no condition may you collect details from patient files and move these outside the LUMC
- You cannot make any image-, sound- and/or film recordings at the LUMC without prior and explicit written permission
